David Yeomans Education

David attended the University of Miami Graphic from where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology in 2009. He also graduated with a Master’s degree in Meteorology from the same university.

Moreover, Yeomans researched hurricane formation for his Masters thesis and was a guest scientist aboard an NOAA Hurricane Hunter flight. He got an invite to present his research at the American Meteorological Society’s annual conventions in 2012, 2013, and 2016.

During his college period, Yeomans worked as an intern at YNN Austin and at CBS4 Miami. While in college, he was actively weather forecasting. He was a weather forecaster on WVUM radio, a station that was ranked by the MTV-U Woodie Awards as the No.1 college radio station. Moreover, Yeomans was the lead weather reporter for the on-campus TV station, Newsvision.

Yeomans is known for his humanitarian work. After Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans in 2005, the meteorologist offered to work as an assistant carpenter as he helped rebuild the upper-Ninth Ward neighborhood with Habitat for Humanity.
