Hugo Hammond Bio

Hugo Hammond is a reality television star, a secondary P.E teacher, and a cricketer from England. He became more popular after his appearance on ITV2’s reality dating show Love Island. Hammond is the first disabled contestant to appear on the show having been born with a club foot.  The condition makes his foot twist downwards and inwards.  However, after numerous surgeries when he was still a child, he reports that people can only notice when he walks barefooted since he walks slightly on his tiptoes.

Hammond is currently  (June 2021) single. Before joining Love and Island, he dated his ex-girlfriend Millie Simmons at the university. The pair dated for almost two and a half years before calling it quits.  He joined the cast of Love Island season 7 in order to get back to the dating scene.

Hammond was born with a club foot.  The condition makes his foot twist downwards and inwards ( due to short Achilles tendon).  However, after numerous surgeries when he was still a child, he reports that people can only notice when he walks barefooted since he walks slightly on his tiptoes.

Hammond attended Oxford Brook University where he studied sports coaching. During his college years, he represented England Physical Disability (PD) in cricket. He revealed that he has been to Bangladesh, Dubai to play cricket. According to his Instagram bio, he graduated from the university in 2019.

Hugo Hammond Job | Teacher | School

Hammond was a secondary P.E teacher at Blundell’s School in Devon before joining the Love Island show. However, on joining the show, the pupils he thought claimed that he abandoned them to go to the Villa. After the claims surfaced online the school released a statement saying that he will not be returning after the show. A spokesperson for the school also confirmed to Daily Star that  Hugo had filled a “very short placement” at the school and had never actually been employed by the school.

Hugo Hammond Love and Island

Hammond is the first ‘disabled’ participant to appear on Love and Island.  He joins the other ten contestants on ITV2’S dating reality show  Love Island season 7. He disclosed that he has been single for a while since dating has been hard due to the lockdowns following the Covid 19 pandemic.  The P.E teacher joins the show in order to a chance to get back to dating.
