Lillie Kolich Biography: The Voice, Age, Hometown, College, Songs and Career

Lillie Kolich Biography

Lillie Kolich is an American singer-songwriter, actress and former theater performer competing on The Voice Season 30. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native earned the final four-chair turn of the Blind Auditions with her version of sombr’s “back to friends” before choosing Team Queen.

Kolich had already established a creative career before joining The Voice. She studied theater performance at the University of Evansville, appeared in the film Cents, moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting and later signed a publishing deal with 507 Publishing. Her music includes the 2026 EP Lorraine and songs such as “paper cuts,” “I Bet” and “Lorraine.”

Who Is Lillie Kolich?

Lillie Kolich is a singer-songwriter originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, who is now based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Her creative background extends beyond music. Lillie studied theater in college and worked as an actress before concentrating more heavily on songwriting and recording her own music.

Her official artist biography describes her songwriting as personal and story-driven, with influences including Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams and Lizzy McAlpine. Since relocating to Nashville, she has performed regularly while building a catalogue of original music.

Lillie Kolich Age

Lillie is 25 years old during The Voice Season 30, according to current coverage of her October 6 Blind Audition.

Hometown, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Lillie grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before eventually moving to Nashville to develop her music career.

Her connection to New Mexico continued after the move. In 2024, she returned to Albuquerque for a hometown performance at the historic Lobo Theater. Her official biography says the show drew more than 300 people.

She later established herself within Nashville’s songwriter community while continuing to identify strongly with her New Mexico roots.

University of Evansville

Lillie attended the University of Evansville in Indiana, where she studied theater performance.

The university’s own theater records establish that she was a performance major from Albuquerque and appeared in several university productions. She played Constance in The Three Musketeers and appeared as the Governor’s wife and other roles in The Caucasian Chalk Circle.

Earlier in her studies, Lillie appeared as The Girl in the University of Evansville production of Colony Collapse. The university identified her at the time as a first-year student from Albuquerque.

Current artist coverage reports that she graduated in 2022 with a theater performance degree. The university records independently establish her enrollment, hometown and performance major, although I would retain “2022” only while citing the current artist-profile source rather than implying the university page itself states the graduation year.

Acting Career

Lillie began acting before college. She appeared in the drama film Cents as Katie Schmidt. The film follows a mathematically gifted 12-year-old who recruits several classmates to transform a school penny drive into a money-making project.

Apple TV lists Lillie among the film’s principal cast alongside Julia Flores and Jy Prishkulnik.

Her acting background helps explain why her career initially included both theater and music before songwriting became a larger professional focus.

Moving to Nashville

After college, Lillie relocated from Albuquerque to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue music and songwriting.

Her official biography says she became a regular performer at Fox & Locke and was selected as a highlighted performer for Zach Bryan’s The Great American Bar Scene release show in Nashville.

By the time she auditioned for The Voice, Lillie described herself as working essentially full-time in songwriting.

507 Publishing

Lillie signed an exclusive publishing deal with 507 Publishing. The publishing company’s parent organization announced the agreement and identified Lillie as a New Mexico native who had written with songwriters and producers including Jackson Nance, Scott Hoying, Josh Ronen, Sierra Carson, Nick Pingree, Elli Rowe and Michael Farren.

The deal gave Lillie’s songwriting career an additional professional foundation before her national television appearance on The Voice.

Songs and Lorraine EP

Lillie has released original music independently for several years. Her catalogue includes songs such as “hang around,” “poor sport,” “paper cuts,” “I Bet” and “Lorraine.” Apple Music lists Lorraine as a six-song EP released on March 6, 2026.

The title song was one of the first songs Lillie wrote after moving to Nashville. The project explores heartbreak, resentment, healing and changing relationships between women after romantic relationships end.

“I Bet,” recorded with Julia Minichiello, approaches heartbreak from the perspective of two women hurt by the same man rather than presenting them as rivals. Lillie said she had wanted to write that kind of duet for about two years before finding the right collaborator.

The Voice Season 30

Lillie appeared during the sixth and final night of Blind Auditions on The Voice Season 30 on October 6, 2026.

She performed “back to friends” by sombr, changing the song to fit her own understated singer-songwriter style. Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine turned their chairs quickly, while Queen Latifah later joined them, giving Lillie a four-chair turn.

The performance became the final four-chair turn of Season 30’s Blind Auditions.

All four coaches attempted to recruit her. Green focused on her ability to tell stories through music, while Clarkson praised her tone and the way she had changed the song to suit her own style. Latifah argued that Lillie’s ability to redesign an existing song demonstrated the versatility she could bring to the competition.

Lillie ultimately chose Queen Latifah, becoming the final artist added to Team Queen.

Other standout contestants on The Voice Season 30 include Mia Knight, BigCountry, Amanda Mikkel, Lexi Stephens, Cade Mower, and Nina Howland.

Why Did Lillie Choose Team Queen?

Lillie’s decision was not necessarily the most predictable one. She lives in Nashville and told Riley Green that she regularly visits his bar, giving them an obvious country-music connection. Kelly Clarkson also strongly praised her interpretation of the song.

However, Lillie ultimately selected Queen Latifah after Queen emphasized her ability to take an existing record and make it sound like her own. The decision completed Queen’s 12-person team for the next stage of the competition.
