Mike Parker is a country singer, songwriter, and footballer best known for contesting in season 20 of American Idol and Season 15 of The Voice. He was eliminated in the Knockout rounds of The Voice season 15. Moreover, he auditioned for season 20 of American Idol which premiered on February 27, 2022.

Parker is also a footballer and he played as a wide receiver and defensive back. He helped Kettle Run High School to the state semifinals as a junior and was heavily recruited by top college programs.

Parker competed in season 15 of The Voice which premiered in the fall of 2018. He auditioned with Neyo’s So sick and got a chair turn from Jennifer Hudson. The singer won The Voice battle round after the performance of John Mayer’s Gravity with teammate Natasha Greycloud.  However, Mike was eliminated in the knockout round when he went up against McKenzie Thomas.

For his  American Idol audition, Parker performed  Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter. He earned a Golden Ticket to the Hollywood week.

Parker released his first original song in 2017 titled Raise a Glass. He has since moved from Virginia to Los Angeles and released four other songs; Put Me in the Game (2019), Battle (2020), The Real Me, (2021), and Still Stingy (2021).  The singer revealed that he started singing in church at the age of 9 years and that he competed in a high school talent show every year.

The singer previously worked as a heavy equipment operator for S.W. Rodgers in Gainesville, 2014-17.

Hollywood  Week Genre Challenge

Parker performed Cam’s Platinum-selling hit, “Burning House,”  for the Hollywood Genre Challenge. He dedicated his performance to his mother who he says was diagnosed with Leukemia. Parker said that prior to his audition, his mother had been hospitalized with a mystery illness. It is after his audition that the family found out she had Leukemia. Parker’s genre challenge performance saw him advance to the next stage of the competition and he hopes that puts a smile on his mom’s face.

Moreover, Parker is a country music singer, and other country singers who advanced from the genre challenge to Hollywood Week duets are Kelsie Dolin, Ryleigh Madison, Olivia Faye, Noah Thompson, and Sarabeth Taite.
