Danielle Finn is a singer and songwriter from Los Angeles. She is widely known for competing in season 20 of the American Idol on ABC. The singer is currently (2021) a  senior student at Shalhevet High School in Los Angeles. Moreover, Finn is Orthodox  Jew and she has been to Modern Orthodox School all her life. In an Interview with Idolchaterryd.com, she said that: “Music has always been my passion and my parents started me on singing lessons at the age of 7. And, I come from a musical family on both my parents’ sides. My mom’s mom was in a choir. My dad’s father was a professional cantor in Chicago, and my dad’s sister, who was in a rock band and tragically passed away too early, inspired me to start writing my own music. Once I started that at about 12 years old, I knew performing and writing music is what I wanted do professionally.”

Her school let her perform the national anthem at a basketball game in front of a crowd that included men. Moreover, Finn reveals that her teachers were excited that she was going to be on American Idol.

Finn is one of the contestants in the 20th season of ABC’s singing competition show, American Idol. The season whose judges are Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan premiered on February 27, 2022. Danielle is a 17-year-old Modern Orthodox high schooler from Los Angeles.

The  Shalhevet High School student auditioned with a rendition of “Mirror” by Madison Ryan Ward. After her audition performance, she was awarded a Golden Ticket to Hollywood Week.

Finn revealed that her mom told her she has been singing since she was a child and they are videos of her singing Hebrew songs after preschool. She further reveals that she had singing lessons since she was 7 or 8 years old. Her rendition of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” in 2021 went viral on TikTok.
