Bromstad is an interior designer and reality television personality. After graduation from college, he started working as a Disney illustrator. He would then thereafter open his own studios Bromstad Studios, which provides a designed fantasy bedroom for the children. His big breakthrough came when he joined the cast of HGTV Design Star to compete against 9 other designers. Bromstad won the HGTV Design Star and received a car prize and an opportunity to host his own show.

Moreover, in 2006, Bromstad began to host his own show Color Splash, which ran from 2006 to 2013. Later, he began hosting My Lottery Dream Home, on HGTV. The designer has hosted a number of other TV shows and he has had a successful television reality career.
