“American Idol” season 21 premiered on February 19, 2023, at 8 PM ET on ABC. The judges of the season are Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry, with Ryan Seacrest as the host.

The Lawton native sang a rendition of Madison Ryann Ward’s Mirror during his “American Idol” season 21 audition. His mom accompanied him to the audition. The  singer received golden ticket to Hollywood Week Round.

During the 1st round of Hollywood Week, PJAE sang Allen Stone’s ” Is This Love.” He then paired with We Ani for an energetic duet of “Hit ‘Em Up Style” by Blu Cantrell. Both PJAE and We Ani advanced to the Showstopper Round of the American Idol
