Blake Proehl is a singer-songwriter and football player from Greensboro, NC. He is widely recognized for competing in ABC’s singing reality competition show “American Idol” season 22. Proehl played football for East Carolina and the Minnesota Vikings as a wide receiver. An ACL injury altered his NFL dream. Proehl has already released original songs which include “Falling Into You,” “Happy Without Me,” and “Where You Need To Be.”

Proehl’s dad is former wide receiver Ricky Proehl. His father/dad, Ricky Proehl graduated in 1986 from Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough, New Jersey, where he played both football and baseball. Ricky Proehl played an impressive 17 seasons with various teams including the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts. Blake’s dad played in four Super Bowls and won two: Super Bowl XXXIV with the Rams and Super Bowl XLI with the Colts.

After his playing career, Ricky Proehl transitioned seamlessly into coaching, taking the role of an assistant coach for the Carolina Panthers until the 2016 season. And in a delightful twist of fate, he returned to the Super Bowl, this time as a coach with the Panthers in 2016.
