Hailey Mia Biography

Hailey Mia is a 13-year-old (age in 2021) singer from Clifton, New Jersey. At 13 years old, she is the youngest contestant in the 21st season of NBC’s reality show, The Voice

Mia taught herself how to read music and play the piano.  She participates in choir and music talents as she awaits to join a technical high school where she can take up a course on vocal performance.

Hailey Mia Eye Condition

Mia’s mother revealed that Mia had a rare eye condition on her right eye known as double elevator palsy. She explained that:

basically means the brain starts to register that eye as a non-working eye and slowly the vision just kind of starts going away.

Mia had a successful surgery at just 7 years old and was able to regain over 30 percent of her vision.

At 13 years old, Mia is the youngest contestant to perform and audition in the 21st season of NBC’s reality competition show, The Voice.  The season whose judges are Ariana Grande,  John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Blake Shelton premiered on September 20, 2021.  For her blind audition, she performed You Broke Me First by Tate McRae. Clarkson was the first to hit the buzzer and turn her chair her followed by Ariana Grande.  After her performance, she explained:” I’ve been waiting ‘till I turned 13 to be on this show,”  “And I’m so so honored to be here.” The judges showered her with praises and were surprised she was only 13 at the time of her audition. Mia chose #TeamTeam.

The Voice Battle Rounds

Mia was paired with Raquel Trinidad for the Voice battles. The pair sang Rose Royce’s Car Wash. Judge Ariana had a hard time choosing the winner between the two. She stated: “I am just emotionally very distraught because I love my team so much,”  In the end, Ariana chose Raquel as the winner of the round, and Mia was stolen to #TeamKelly.

The Voice Live Playoffs

Hailey gave an extraordinary and very impressive performance of Olivia Rodrigo’s hit song Traitor. The 13-year-old and the youngest contestant of the singing competition looked confident on stage as she performed and wowed both the judges and audience.

Update: Mia is set to compete for the Voice Top 11 spot come November 15/16, 2021. Three artists who will get the least votes will compete for an Instant save. Only one artist will be eligible for the save, eliminating the other two from the competition.

Mia sang Elastic Heart by Sia on the November 23rd, 2021 episode of The Voice. She advanced to season 21 of The Voice Top 10 via public votes.
