While growing up, her family struggled to make ends meet, and at one time her whole family was homeless. During that time, she used music as her safety blanket. With the help of her parents, she was still able to care for her daughter and perform overseas but ultimately left the touring life to provide more stability for her daughter. The talented singer, Shadale is a contestant of the 21st season of NBC’s reality singing competition, The Voice. The season premiered on September 20, 2021, and is judged by Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton. During her blind audition, she performed That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars and got two chair turns from John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. She chose #TeamLegend as a coach.

Shadale’s love for music started in the church at just 4 years old. She participated in choir and musical theater throughout school and started singing competitively. At 21, she joined a gospel group and spent the next seven years touring all over the world, both with the group and as a solo act (source: NBC).

The Singer performed Impossible by Shontelle. She was paired to compete against Samara Brown who sang Tina Turner’s The Best. Shadale was the winner, meaning she advanced to The Voice Live Playoffs.  For why she chose to perform Impossible, the singer explained in her green room interview that growing up she felt that making her dreams come true felt almost impossible at times as her family was struggling to make ends meet. At one point, their whole family was homeless, and music was the only safety blanket that Shadale had.

After progressing to Top 13 by coach’s choice, Shadale is in the Top 13 where the remaining contestants each perform a dedication song to a person(s) of their choice. She performed a rendition of Life Is a Highway by Rascal Flatts to honor her father who is a truck driver. Besides, to advance to the Top 11, she will need public votes or an instant save in a scenario that they will be among the bottom 3 with the least votes.

When The Voice reaches the Live Playoffs, viewers are expected to vote for their favorite contestant to keep them in the show as they compete for the Top spot.

  • NBC.com/voicevote — To vote through the official website, fans must create an NBC account.

Each method allows up to 10 votes.

According to NBC.com/voicevote, the voting window opens Monday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. MT. Voting remains open through Nov. 9 at 5 a.m. MT.
