At 28 years old, Vacanti is one of the contestants to perform in the 21st season of NBC’s reality competition show, The Voice. The season whose judges are Ariana Grande, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Blake Shelton premiered on September 20, 2021. For his blind audition, he performed Into the Unknown from Frozen 2. Coach John Legend was the first judge to turn his chair around. He then blocked judge Ariana Grande who turned her chair moments later. Vacanti chose #TeamLegend.
The Lockport native revealed that when he was 8 years old, he developed severe and chronic asthma which led him to be often hospitalized. To fight his condition, the doctors prescribed heavy steroids which in turn made him rapidly gain weight. He was constantly bullied in school for his weight gain and high-pitched voice and it is during that time he ran to music as his safe place.
Vacanti found a place for himself in the community choir. He sang with the Buffalo State Chamber Choir and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Victoria Furby.
